Justin got drums. And we signed him up for lessons today. I expect my hearing to be gone soon. Either that or my sanity. But maybe that's been gone for a long time anyway...
This is further proof that your parents listen to dumb things you say when you're a teenager ("I want my son to be a drummer") and wait until the right moment to grant your wishes. Except that they don't seem to realize (or care?) that you no longer wish it. Sigh. I guess I'll just have to do the same to him. It's only fair.

pet peeves
Two pet peeves today:
1 - It drives me up a wall when teachers give out assignments and make a huge deal out of grammar and spelling, etc. and their assignment is filled with typos! And it seems that the ones who are most worried about it ("I'll take off a point for every single error and they add up fast so pay attention!") are the worst offenders! One of my teachers gave such a statement and I had already found 3 typos in the paper. Don't get me wrong, I'm totally on the side of good grammar and typing and spelling but I also expect the same level of competence from my teachers as they do from me.
2 - In online classes you have to post to discussion boards and it takes a long time and I realize that most of us want to get done as quickly as possible but please at least pay attention to what you are typing. There is always at least one person who cannota tpye and doesnn't pay anyn atteniom which makes ir a loot hardet to read quicky and be dome. See what I mean? Grrr!

do not try this at home
So I made cinnamon rolls tonight for dinner and I had the glass pan on the stove while they finished raising. I turned the other burner on to boil some water. Well, actually, I didn't turn the other burner on, I turned the burner on that the glass pan of cinnamon rolls were sitting on. On high. My sister said she thought I was cooking the rolls and yep I was so she picked up the pan and it literally burst in her hands. There was glass everywhere. And cinnamon roll dough. Happily, and luckily, no one was hurt. Sadly, I was so looking forward to those rolls. They smelled and looked great. Now we're having pizza from Black Jack for dinner. It might be good but it's just not the same... So, the lesson here is that you should never put a glass pan on the stove top and turn it on. This is bad.

oh the irony of it all
So, here's a laugh for you. We're having a one time enrichment class on 'creative dating' and I get to help with it. (This is where you start laughing) Do you think it would keep people away to know that the last date I had was almost 2 1/2 years ago? Hmmm... I think they might not have much faith in what we're presenting. Perhaps I can just stay in the background and be in charge of treats. I am good at that!
